Wild and wise!
Most people run from apex predators. Jason George packs a camera and follows them.
For 16 years, Jason has travelled the world in search of wild cats. He has seen them all—and much more.
His lens has captured creatures great and small, including tigers, leopards, moose, octopuses, squid, deer, foxes, turtles, reptiles, amphibians, and even insects.
The photographer, author, and event creator has built a career capturing nature’s most formidable hunters and bringing audiences right to the edge of the wild alongside him.
What began as a childhood fascination evolved into a lifelong mission in 2008, when a troubling visit to a captive tiger facility in Thailand sparked his determination to advocate for wild, free-roaming animals.
Beyond the lens, Jason’s real magic lies in his ability to turn wildlife expeditions into immersive community events and inclusive experiences.
As an active event organizer, he brings the wilderness directly to the public through dynamic presentations across Ontario and internationally. He delivers up to a dozen engaging talks each month, candidly sharing his photographic journey and personal experiences.
Through his dedicated wildlife community initiative, the JGP Prowl, Jason organizes group outings, educational workshops, and outdoor events that encourage adults, families, and nature enthusiasts to explore the natural world together.
Recognizing the power of shared adventure, he also launched Epic First, a philanthropic program that coordinates customized “dream trip” events and outings for individuals with special needs, supported by local communities.
Mission possible
Jason’s mission is to change how people view the natural world. Describing his diverse work, he explains: “Well, I wear a few hats as a wildlife photographer, author, and presenter. I create books about various animals and do presentations for various groups, ages 3–93, around the world.”
Those global adventures have culminated in his popular Going Deeper with Jason George book series, which currently features nine published titles, with two more on the way and translations in multiple languages. The books also feature interactive elements that link readers directly to his YouTube video expeditions.
By pairing breathtaking big-cat encounters with interactive books, public speaking, and hands-on event hosting, Jason George continues to create inclusive spaces where adventure, education, and wildlife conservation go hand in hand.
