Canada takes centre stage again

Collision, the world’s biggest tech event returns to Toronto

Collision, the fastest growing technology event in North America, returns to Toronto in June 2022.

The tech event will be the largest international gathering in the city of Toronto in more than two years, with 33,000-plus attendees expected to convene at the Enercare Centre from June 20-23.

With demand for in-person events increasing rapidly, partnership floor space sold out in April, eight weeks before the event. Collision will have more than 250 global partners in 2022 (up from 100 in 2019, including Snap, Google Cloud, TikTok, AWS, RBC, Siemens, KPMG, CAE, Interac and Crypto).

Immigrant entrepreneurs can also use the platform to connect with some of the world’s most influential business leaders.

Collision’s women in tech program is also sold out, and startup space is expected to soon reach capacity.

More than 900 speakers, 1,250 startups, 1,200 journalists, 850 investors and 100 unicorn companies will arrive in Toronto from 140-plus countries to once again make meaningful connections face to face.

120 national, regional and local trade delegations will participate in Collision to explore business opportunities with an international audience.

Founders and CEOs of the world’s most successful tech companies Substack, Ethereum, Blockchain.com, Flexport, Cardano, Tezos, Binance, BlockFi, Chief, Calendly, ClearCo, Cloudflare and many more – will speak this June across Collision’s 20-plus tracks.

It may be the largest gathering of tech unicorns at one event, ever. Deel, Canva, Trulioo and FalconX are among the more than 100 decacorns and unicorns that will be in attendance and on stage at Collision in what Recode calls “one of the best shows for up-and-coming startups”.

Additionally, thousands of startups will connect with some of the world’s leading investors, including Sequoia’s Andrew Reed, Renegade’s Renata Quintini, Bedrock’s Geoff Lewis, Lux’s Deena Shakir and Kindred’s Kanyi Maqubela.

“It’s a privilege to play an important part in Toronto’s reopening, as thousands travel from across the world to do business and meet each other again in person. While we’ve successfully hosted Collision online for the past two years, with 140,000 virtual attendees, nothing compares to in-person events,” said Paddy Cosgrave, founder and CEO at Collision.

Collision, the world’s biggest tech event returns to Toronto

Collision will be launching new invite-only events in Toronto for 2022 to further show off the city’s vibrant tech ecosystem, and a selection of exclusive, intimate gatherings will be hosted in venues across the city to bring together a curated network of industry leaders. Collision After Hours will direct thousands of attendees to some of the bars and restaurants around the city each evening after the day’s sessions wind down, while Venture will host the world’s leading venture capitalists, LPs and angel investors. More key events are yet to be announced.

“Collision is exactly the kind of electric, forward-looking event that will help generate even more ideas and innovative solutions,” said Vic Fedeli, Ontario’s minister of economic development, job creation and trade.

“This is an exciting moment for our city as we continue to reopen. The decision from Collision to host an in-person event this year reinforces the confidence I have in our city and all that we have to offer. During this event, we will have the opportunity to showcase the growing technology and innovation sector in Toronto and our deep pool of diverse tech professionals,” said Toronto’s Mayor John Tory.
