Mother’s Day Origins:

The idea of Mother’s Day was first suggested by a famous poet named Julia Ward Howe in 1870. She also wrote the lyrics to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”. After the Civil War, she proposed a Mother’s Day to recognize peace and protest war.

Although her efforts didn’t lead to an official holiday, it laid the groundwork for what would later become Mother’s Day

So next time you see a mom, remember the amazing things happening beneath the surface.  Moms are the superheroes of our world, and they deserve all our love and appreciation.
